Photo-etched parts for refining a model of the Vought F4U-1A Corsair carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. An accessory set; the model itself is not part of the delivery.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vought F4U Corsair was among the most striking carrier fighters of the Second World War. You can recognize it by its inverted gull wing, its long fuselage and its piston radial engine with a large propeller. Compared with the earliest batch, the F4U-1A configuration was given a raised pilots seat and a canopy with a better view, which made the approach to the deck of an aircraft carrier easier for pilots. Corsairs flew with the US Navy and the Marine Corps, and in 1:48 scale they are among the most frequently built machines of that era.
These are photo-etched metal parts intended for refining an F4U-1A model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is thin sheet metal with features that can be rendered only coarsely in plastic: buckles and belts, clasps, grilles, placards and small flat details. The exact list of parts and their placement on the model are given by the manufacturer in the instructions supplied with the set, as is the recommended kit.
Separate a part with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers, so that the sheet is not bent. Make the bends along the scribed line, best of all in a bending tool or between two rulers. Glue with super glue applied in a tiny amount; flat parts can also be soldered. Before painting, degrease the sheet and use a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will flake off a smooth surface.
The model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
