The Sea King HC.4 is the transport version of the Sea King, built for inserting and supplying troops. Compared with the antisubmarine machines it grew out of, the search equipment was removed and the space inside was left free for troops and cargo. From the outside even a layman recognizes it by its bulky fuselage, five-blade main rotor and folding tail boom, which shortens the machine so that it fits into a hangar on board a ship.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is made by etching an outline out of thin sheet, so it gives shapes for which plastic is always too thick: grilles, loops, buckles, thin hems and flat panels. On a helicopter with a large glazed area and wide doors that pays off twice over, because the inside is visible. Which Sea King HC.4 kit the set complements and where the individual parts are fitted is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are held on the fret by small bridges. Cut through them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and never break them off, because a torn part twists and cannot be straightened without a trace. Make the bend along the etched groove and pull it tight along its whole length at once so that the edge comes out straight. They are glued with super glue in an amount you carry on the tip of a wire. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer intended for metal, otherwise the finish will rub off during handling.
The package contains the photo-etched fret. The kit, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
