A set of resin fire extinguishers of British manufacture from the Second World War period in 1:48 scale. It contains six pieces. It is not a kit but small accessories with which models of vehicles, equipment or diorama scenes are fitted out.
A fire extinguisher was part of the standard equipment of British vehicles and was usually fixed in an easily reachable place on the bed, on a fender or inside. On a model it is a typical small detail that helps credibility a great deal: it brings an otherwise empty area to life and provides a natural color contrast. In kits such small things are either missing or cast in simplified form, because an injection mold cannot manage the fine shapes of the cylinder, the bracket and the hose.
Wash the castings with lukewarm water and dish soap so that no mold release agent is left on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, never snap them off, and sand the faces wet with your airways protected. Hold the small parts with tweezers and glue them with cyanoacrylate. After a coat of primer the fire extinguishers are usually painted with a brush, because they are small and often a different color from their surroundings; a light final wash will bring out their outline and how they sit on the model.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
