A color three-dimensional cockpit interior for models of the Yak-3 in 1:48 scale. The parts are dipped briefly in lukewarm water and slid off the backing paper.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yakovlev Yak-3 is a Soviet single-seat fighter of the Second World War. It was small and light, which gave it good agility at low altitude. The cockpit is therefore narrow, and in 1:48 scale, with the canopy removed or open, you can see practically the whole equipped area, including the instrument panel and the side walls.
The set is a color three-dimensional cockpit interior. The parts are printed on a backing decal paper and are applied by the wet method: cut the part from the sheet, put it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and then slide it off the paper into place. The part has no adhesive layer of its own, so it relies on a surface coated with gloss varnish. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals would attack the printed resin.
Spray the surface, let it dry thoroughly and coat it with a gloss varnish of the Future or Tamiya X-22 type; it is the gloss that the part grips. Slide the soaked part into place, draw off the remaining water with the corner of a paper towel and press the part down with a soft wooden stick from the center to the edges so that no air is trapped underneath. On an uneven surface a tiny drop of super glue secures it. The relief of the instruments stands out when you finally unify the finished cockpit with a thin coat of matte varnish.
The set is for builders who want to equip the cockpit without painting tiny dials and without photo-etched parts, and especially for models built with the canopy open. The package contains only the interior set, unless stated otherwise; the model, the paints and the glue are not included.
