An add-on set for a model of the Soviet Yak-38 Forger A carrier aircraft in 1:48 scale. The parts are not polystyrene and are bonded with super glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yak-38, known to NATO as the Forger, was a Soviet carrier aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing. It served from the decks of Soviet Navy ships and differed from Western machines in the arrangement of its propulsion and in the shape of its fuselage. The Forger A version was the single-seat one, that is the combat version, not the two-seat trainer.
It is a part or a group of parts that are fitted to a plastic kit in place of the parts from the mold. The aim is a sharper shape and finer detail than an injection mold can deliver. Which parts are in the package and where they belong is shown by the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest so that the mating surface is flat. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Polystyrene cement does not hold here, so use super glue applied in drops. For the exact procedure follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is for modelers building the Yak-38 in 1:48 scale who want to take the detail beyond the level of the kit. The package contains only this accessory; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
