New Ware EXPERT mask set for the Yakovlev Yak-38U Forger B (1:48): the most extensive level of cut kabuki masks for the two-seat training version of this Soviet carrier-based vertical take-off aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cut self-adhesive kabuki paper masks from New Ware at the most extensive EXPERT level, intended for the model of the two-seat Yakovlev Yak-38U in 1:48 scale. Two separate canopies with a whole row of frames make masking the Yak a time-consuming discipline, and precisely cut masks shorten it to minutes while the frames stay perfectly sharp. The EXPERT level as a rule adds masks for further areas of the airframe beyond the glazing itself.
The Yak-38 was the only series-built Soviet carrier-based aircraft with vertical take-off and landing; it operated from the Kiev-class aircraft carrying cruisers. The Yak-38U training version, with the NATO reporting name Forger B, received a second cockpit in a lengthened, markedly drooped nose that gave the machine an unmistakable silhouette. It was used to convert pilots to the demanding technique of vertical take-off and hovering.
For modelers of Soviet naval aviation and collectors of vertical take-off machines who want a clean, precise result on a rarely seen two-seat version with the most complete masking coverage.
This is a masking accessory: the aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
