A plastic model of the battleship Nagato in her 1944 configuration, 1:700 scale, the Japanese brand Fujimi. A flagship with guns of 410 mm caliber.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fujimi has rendered the Nagato in the form the vessel had during the autumn operation of the Japanese fleet off the Philippines. The set of parts and the accessories enclosed are described by the manufacturer alone; what follows here is based on what the name of the item gives. The 1:700 scale makes it possible to line capital ships up side by side without demanding much room.
The Nagato was the first battleship in the world armed with barrels of 410 mm caliber and for many years she served as the flagship of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She went through a fundamental modernization in which she received a new bow form, a reworked funnel and strengthened armor. She entered the fighting in the late phase of the war, when she escorted a force operating in the area of the Philippine islands. As one of the few large Japanese units she survived to the capitulation and was used as a target in the postwar tests at Bikini Atoll.
Leave the main armament turrets able to turn and glue them last; it is then easier to reach the deck details beneath them with a brush. The anti-aircraft tubs on the superstructures tend to be very fine in this scale, so separate them with a saw rather than with cutters. At the end a thin coat of semi-gloss varnish helps to even the surface out.
The package contains parts to be glued, with no finish applied. Paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
