A plastic model of the battleship Fuso in her state of 1935 and 1938, 1:700 scale. The version with the whole hull from Fujimi.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the Japanese battleship Fuso with the hull shaped over its full depth. The pair of years in the name of the item refers to the states of the vessel after completed rebuilds. The modeler thus chooses which of the forms to build, but the exact difference between them cannot be read off from the name.
The Fuso became known above all for her forward superstructure, which during the interwar modifications grew into a tall tiered tower. That is precisely what gave Japanese battleships their characteristic silhouette. The main armament consisted of twelve guns of 356 millimeters caliber in pairs, laid out untypically along the whole length of the deck. The ship perished in October 1944 in the Surigao Strait.
The tall superstructure is the most demanding part of the whole build. Assemble it level by level, let every part set and keep checking that the structure is not leaning. The small platforms crack easily, so cut them from the sprue with a margin and sand the remainder of the gate down. Apply the paint in thin coats, so that the details in the fine engraving do not become clogged.
It is an unassembled kit without a finish. Paints, glue and a base are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
