A photo-etched set from the Czech brand Eduard for 1:48 scale, devoted to the landing gear and its surroundings on the F-16C Block 25 variant. The set falls into the full photo-etched range. Landing gear bays are among the places an injection mold cannot reach in principle: the real structures are full of ribs, runs and sheet metal stiffeners, whereas in plastic the walls tend to be smooth.
The designation Block 25 belongs to the first production form of the single-seat C version. Against the earlier machines it brought a more modern radar and extended armament options, and it became the basis the later blocks grew from. The silhouette stayed familiar; the differences are hidden inside and in details of the fit.
First work out the order: most of the parts have to be fitted before the fuselage is closed, or you will not get into the bays. Make fine bends over a sharp edge, not with your fingers. Before painting, degrease the sheet and apply a primer suitable for metal. Paint the inside of the bays and pick it out with a dark coat into the corners before you fit the landing gear legs.
Only the photo-etched fret is sold. The package contains no plastic kit, paints or glue.
