A self-adhesive color photo-etched set for the cockpit of the Israeli F-16C Barak, 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Eduard. The abbreviation in the name refers to the self-adhesive form.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech brand Eduard for 1:48 scale is aimed at the pilot's compartment of the Israeli version of the F-16C, which carries the name Barak. According to the manufacturer these are color-printed photo-etched parts in a self-adhesive form, that is with an adhesive layer on the back: the parts are taken out of the fret, stacked on one another and joined permanently by pressing. The abbreviation at the end of the name denotes exactly this treatment.
With ordinary photo-etch each layer of the instrument panel is glued separately and cyanoacrylate glue likes to wick onto the visible surfaces. The self-adhesive variant does away with that step, so the work goes faster and the risk of smeared printing falls. Color printing at the same time means that neither the panel nor the side consoles have to be laboriously painted.
Leave the fret at room temperature so that the adhesive layer holds well, and touch the parts with tweezers, not with your fingers. Sand the original plastic relief under the panel flat, otherwise the assembly will not bed down. Finish and close the cockpit only after checking that the canopy lines up. Painting over the printing is not recommended; light picking out of the edges is enough.
The contents are a photo-etched fret for the cockpit. The aircraft itself has to be bought as a plastic kit.
