1:48 B-24D Liberator radio compartment is an Eduard photo-etched set for the radio operator's station of the American bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is aimed at the radio operator's space behind the cockpit: the desk with its instruments, the bulkheads, the consoles and the small controls. In plastic this part tends to be simplified, because it can only be glimpsed through the side windows and an open hatch. A metal version gives rise to crisp edges and legible labels. This is a full photo-etched set from Eduard.
The bomber was worked by a numerous crew and the radio operator held a key role in it: he kept contact with the formation, worked the signal direction finder and stood in at the guns when needed. His station was squeezed between the cockpit and the cargo space and full of cabinets with electronics, which makes it an interesting scene for a model. The fit moreover changed during the war, so the appearance of this place differed between individual machines.
Check where the inside will be visible from and detail above all those places. Glue the photo-etched desks onto a base leveled flat, or they will bow. Pick the instrument labels out with a dark wash and wipe the excess away with a damp cloth. A photograph with hard light will finally show whether the work was visible. Divide the build into stages and let the joints cure between them.
The set consists of photo-etched parts. The model, finishing materials and adhesives do not go with it.
