A late Sherman with the long gun

A plastic kit of the American medium tank in the M4A3 rendition with wet ammunition stowage and vertical volute spring suspension. The extended version of the set adds features that the base release does not have. The designation Late refers to the late production state, that is, to machines from the last phase of the war.

Why this variant in particular

Rearming the Sherman with a 76 mm gun was the answer to the fact that the original short barrel was no longer enough against more heavily armored opponents. The letter W in the designation refers to the wet stowage of rounds, which was meant to reduce the risk of fire after a hit, and it is precisely this combination that is among the most widespread forms of the Sherman in Europe in 1945. The Ford engine is the recognition feature of the A3 variant.

• Line the barrel up dry before you fix it
• Arrange the kit on the hull according to period shots
• Fill the seams on the turret before you start painting
