Paint masks for the late form of the German crosses on the Bf 109G and Bf 109K in 1:32 scale, prepared for kits from various manufacturers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the most numerous German fighter of the Second World War. The G version, known among modelers as the Gustav, formed the core of production in the second half of the war and existed in dozens of renderings. It was followed by the K version, the last production form of the type. You recognize both versions by the higher sides of the rear fuselage, the reworked gun covers and different wheels; there are, however, many more small differences between the individual batches.
These are paint masks for spraying the German crosses in the form used in the late part of the war, when on many machines the national marking was simplified down to the outline alone. The set is prepared for Bf 109G and Bf 109K kits in 1:32 scale from various manufacturers, because the crosses follow the size of the real machine, not the shape of particular parts. How many sets the sheets contain and in what sizes is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Let the area under the mask cure properly and ideally give it a coat of gloss varnish, so that the edge of the mask seats and paint cannot run underneath. Lay the mask on, press the edges down and spray in several thin coats. With crosses that have a light border it is worth spraying the light base first and adding the dark center only with a second mask. Take them off while fresh and at an angle to the rear.
The set will be appreciated by modelers who are bothered by the glossy film of decals on a large model. The package contains the masks; the paints, the decals, the glue and the kit are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
