Masks for the glazing and wheels of the Kamov Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter in 1:48 scale, with shapes for the outer and the inner side of the canopy.
Responsibility details are not available.
The angular canopy of this helicopter has a lot of short frames and each of them is a source of a shaky edge when painting with a brush. The parts of the set are cut into thin masking tape and cover the glazing from the outside and the inside, so you will finish the framing even on a model with an open cabin or with the interior exposed. Shapes for the wheels are added, so that the tires stay separated from the rims. Everything is on one sheet; the tape is semi-transparent, comes off without residue and with careful peeling will take another use.
The Ka-52 Alligator is the two-seat attack variant of the Ka-50 family. It has no compensating rotor on the tail; the contra-rotating coaxial rotors cancel the reaction torque by themselves, which allows the machine maneuvers that other helicopters are not up to. The crew sits side by side, not one behind the other, and as one of the few helicopters in the world it is equipped with ejection seats. The main armament consists of a movable cannon and pylons under the short wings.
Begin with the inner shapes: stick them on before you seat the clear parts in the fuselage, and spray the shade of the cabin. The outer masks come in turn only after curing. Mask the wheels separately and spray the rims turned upward, so that the paint does not get into the grooves of the tread. Always press the edges down thoroughly, as otherwise the spray will run under.
