The Sd.Kfz.251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War. At the front it had a steered wheeled axle, at the rear a tracked running gear, and it was precisely this combination that gave it mobility in terrain and tolerable behavior on the road. The vehicle carried infantry to the battlefield and served in a whole range of derived renditions, from command and signals ones to weapon carriers. The front section of the chassis is clearly visible on a model, because no superstructure covers it and, seen from the front and from below, it forms a presentable part of the vehicle.
The set concerns the front part of the chassis structure in 1:35 scale and is intended as an accessory for a plastic kit, not as a standalone model. It replaces or completes a section which a kit often deals with only in a simplified way, because it is hidden behind the wheels and the fenders. The exact extent of the set and the number of parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not of polystyrene, so glue them with super glue; cement for plastic models does not hold on them. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder, so that the edge is not damaged. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, as otherwise the paint holds unreliably. Try the fit dry first and only then glue permanently, and paint the front section before the wheels and fenders cover it.
