1:10 Bust French Hussard 2024 is a resin bust of a French hussar in 1:10 scale, supplied to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The large format of a bust brings out what gets lost on small figures: the texture of the fabric, the shape of the face and the medals and decorations on the chest. The piece is produced by 3D printing from resin, and Ronan Poirier is the author of both the sculpture and the sample paint job. In the package you will find a model intended to be assembled and painted, still with its print supports.
Hussar regiments arose in Europe as a light cavalry force meant for reconnaissance and quick raids, and the French army counts them among its oldest formations of all. Armored vehicles replaced the horses, but the name, the traditions and the ceremonial dress stayed. The bust captures the look of a hussar in the present day, that is a soldier of today's army with a lineage several centuries old; the year in the designation refers to the year the sculpture was made.
At this format the transitions are played out over centimeters, and that is why oil paints or acrylic in many translucent layers work well. Build the skin up from a darker base toward the light and draw the eyes in only once the face is finished. The seams and the edges of the fabric take a subtle highlight, while the metal of the medals takes a polished shade with a sharp glint.
Paints, brushes and a base are not included.
