The figure French WWII Commando Kieffer - Soldier 11 in 1:35 scale represents a gunner with the Bren light machine gun in the ranks of the French commandos of 1944.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure was given the role of the crew of a Bren light machine gun by the manufacturer. In the British infantry organization the French were fitted into, it was precisely the Bren that formed the core of a squad's fire while the rest of the men maneuvered around it. The figure is printed from resin and the package holds one figure.
The weapon was derived from a Czechoslovak design from Brno and in British service it made its name thanks to its accuracy and the quick barrel change. The men of Free France were given it along with the whole of their British kit, because their battalion came under No. 4 Commando and fought by British regulations. In June 1944 they advanced with it from the beach to Ouistreham. The accuracy of the sculpting of the equipment is the main selling point of this line.
Fine parts such as the barrel or the sling stand up to little force, so it is a good idea to separate them with a fine saw and not with nippers. Painting works well from the bottom up: first the uniform, then the equipment and last the face, which decides the overall impression. A matte varnish at the end evens the surface out.
The package consists of the resin figure alone; nothing else is enclosed with it.
