The third bust of the Ukrainian line, 1:10 scale

Number three continues the line of present-day Ukrainian subjects which the French maker is building in three sizes side by side. The format of a bust allows the sculptor to go into details that are lost on a whole figure: a seam on the sleeve, a zipper, the stitching of a strap. It is sold singly, in a raw state.

How to work with a resin print

Once cured, a printed surface carries a thin film which has to be removed, otherwise the paint holds badly. A warm bath with detergent and a soft brush is enough, followed by thorough drying. Level the remnants of the supports on the lower edge with a knife and a file; resin dust is fine, so do the sanding wet and with protection of the airways.

Painting a face in a large scale

On an area of this size, painting with a single shade stops working. The skin is built from several layers, from a cooler base through warm middle tones up to the lights on the nose and the brow ridges. Light beard stubble is suggested with a dry brush in gray-blue, not black. The eyes can be managed precisely, because here the iris finally has a real area.
