A plastic kit of the Soviet T-26 light tank of the 1932 model in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda, in the twin-turret form.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the early form of the most numerous light tank of its day. In the box there are 226 parts and a decal sheet with period Soviet markings. You can build either the usual form with two small turrets for machine guns, or the variant in which one of the turrets carries a short gun of 37 mm caliber. The choice is made during the build, so there is no hurry about deciding.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you attach the fenders; after that a brush will no longer reach between the road wheels. It is a good idea to leave both turrets free to rotate and to fit them only after the weathering has gone on. Dust and mud on the bottom of the hull look more convincing when they are applied in several thin layers.
The type came from the licensed form of the British six-ton Vickers, and the Soviet Union built it in greater numbers than any other tank of the interwar period. Early examples had a pair of small turrets side by side, which made it possible to fire to both sides at once, though at the cost of a cramped interior and weak firepower. It is exactly that silhouette that makes the vehicle an unmistakable exhibit. Machines of this form saw combat in Spain and in the later clashes in the east of Europe.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
