The light variant of the same motif measures fifteen centimeters and captures the silhouette of the Dornier Do 335 A, that is of the German heavy fighter with propellers at both ends of the fuselage. The white print is meant for a dark surface, whether that is black bodywork, a dark cabinet or tinted glass.
The idea of two engines on the longitudinal axis of a fuselage went with Claude Dornier from the 1920s onward. He proved it on a small experimental aircraft that flew before the war, and only out of that did a real combat machine grow. The rear propeller, however, brought a problem of its own: a pilot would not get past it when leaving the aircraft in an emergency. The designers therefore reached for a solution that was a rarity at the time, namely an ejection seat supplemented by the jettisoning of the rear propeller and the upper part of the rudder by means of explosive charges. A combination of equipment like that was among the absolute exceptions in the aviation of the day.
A light motif holds best where it has calm around it, that is on a uniform dark surface with no texture and no seams. Wash the surface, degrease it and let it dry. Where the surface often goes through brushes, reckon with a shorter life than on glass. Any adhesive residue left after removal is released by warm air from a hair dryer.
It differs from the dark variant of the same motif only in the color of the print.
