An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese fighter Mitsubishi A7M2 Reppu (Allied code designation Sam), the Model 11 version, in 1:48 scale from the Japanese maker FineMolds. The model captures a machine powered by a radial engine and offers a finely engraved surface and a detailed cockpit; according to the manufacturer a pilot figure is included as well. Check the exact contents of the box and the number of decal schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Mitsubishi A7M Reppu was developed as the successor to the famous A6M Zero fighter for the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. The machine was meant to stand out through higher performance and better agility, but its development was dogged by problems, above all with a sufficiently powerful engine. The aircraft never reached production and only prototypes were built, so it is often called the phantom fighter, one that took practically no part in the fighting at the end of the war.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully so that the fine engraving is preserved. Paint the cockpit interior and the pilot figure before you close up the fuselage. Lay down a primer before painting and spray the surface with an airbrush. Japanese naval machines usually wore a dark green upper surface with a light underside; after a gloss coat apply the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add fine wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
