A plastic kit of the Japanese F-2A multirole aircraft in 1:72 scale, aimed at a machine in anniversary colors. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-2A is a Japanese single-engine multirole aircraft that is derived from the American F-16 but is not a copy of it. It received a larger wing with a high proportion of composites, a longer and bulkier nose and a range of systems of its own, so it differs from its model in shape as well as in behavior. It came about in cooperation between Japanese and American industry and serves with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, where it carries out tasks against ground and naval targets. The F-2A version is single-seat.
The package aims at a machine in the anniversary colors of one of the squadrons of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Such machines differ from the ordinary ones only in their finish, and all the more therefore depends on the quality of the markings and on a smooth surface on which the vivid colors will stand out.
Cut the parts off a little away from the gate and sand the remainder, so that the surface detail stays intact. Wash and degrease the plastic before painting. With anniversary schemes it pays to spray a smooth glossy base and let it cure properly, because on a matte and rough surface large marking elements cannot be seated without silvering. The build sequence and the order of painting are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The kit will please modelers with an interest in present-day aviation and in strikingly colored machines that do not get lost on a shelf. Paints, glue and other building materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
