A 1:570 deck set with photo-etched parts for the battleship HMS King George V gives a model the texture of wooden covering and fine metal details. The set is intended for the Revell 5016 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory for a model of the British battleship HMS King George V in 1:570 scale brings two things together: a wooden surface for the upper areas and a photo-etched sheet with details that cannot be made in plastic. According to the name the package contains both parts. The ship kit is not included. It is based on the dimensions of the Revell 5016 kit.
The King George V was the lead unit of the class of the same name and entered service at the end of 1940. She carried ten 14-inch guns divided unconventionally into two four-barrel and one two-barrel turret, which was a consequence of international treaty limits. In May 1941 she took part in the final action against the Bismarck, she covered the Arctic convoys and she spent the last months of the war with the British Pacific Fleet. She was present at the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay as well.
First finish and line the hull up, and only then lay the surface; seams cannot be corrected under a finished area. Bend the photo-etched parts over a steel ruler and join them with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Paint the metal parts separately and mask the wood during the final flattening, so that it keeps a shade of its own.
