A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale for the Consolidated B-24J Liberator heavy bomber. An accessory to a kit for swapping or adding markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was a four-engined heavy bomber with radial engines, a slender wing set high on the fuselage and twin vertical tail surfaces. The J version had a powered turret in the nose, so the nose is fuller than on older variants. Liberators flew over Europe and in the Pacific, and their aircraft tended to be richly painted, from unit insignia to personal artwork on the fuselage.
The package is a sheet of decals in 1:48 scale, that is, an accessory to a finished kit. How many aircraft and which lettering the sheet carries is not stated here, so go by the instructions supplied with it. They also give the placement of the individual motifs on the model.
Decals hold on a smooth glossy surface; on matte varnish a white veil forms under them. Give the model a gloss coat before applying them and let it cure. Check the procedure in the instructions with the sheet; with decals applied by the wet method a brief soak and a slide into place with a brush is enough.
The set is for builders who want to set their Liberator apart from the markings supplied in the kit. The package holds the decals only. The model, the paints, the varnish and the glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
