Masking set 1:48 Gloster E.28/39 Pioneer (Peewit)

This self-adhesive masking set from the Czech maker Peewit is meant for covering the cockpit glazing while painting a model of the experimental Gloster E.28/39 Pioneer aircraft in 1:48 scale. This was the first British aircraft with a jet engine, and it flew in 1941. The masks are cut from masking film exactly to the shape of the canopy frames of a particular plastic kit and take the place of slow masking with tape.

Use

• Lift the masks off the sheet with tweezers and stick them onto the relevant parts of the canopy.
• Press the edges down carefully so that paint cannot creep under them.
• Spray the frame with an airbrush or a brush and take the masks off before the paint has dried completely.
• Any open glazed areas can be covered with masking fluid or tape.
