A 90 mm gun seated on the heavy Breda 52 chassis. The same weapon also rode on other carriers, and this was the most robust of them. The 1:100 model comes out roughly seven centimeters long.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gun of 90 mm caliber with a barrel fifty-three calibers long belonged to the best that Italian arms industry produced at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. It was used in fixed positions, in a towed form and on mobile carriers, and it was precisely the mobile versions that proved the most valuable. The Breda 52 chassis offered a frame firm enough for this weapon and enough room for the ammunition and the crew.
Batteries with these vehicles operated in North Africa and later on home territory as well. Fire was delivered from a platform formed by dropping the sides, so the vehicle was ready for action quickly, but it had to be positioned so as to have a view and yet not be seen. The slightest hit or a splinter meant trouble, because the carrier was essentially an ordinary truck with minimal protection.
In 1:100 scale the vehicle comes out at approximately seven centimeters, so among tankettes and self-propelled guns it looks like a real giant. A barrel raised into the anti-aircraft position gives the whole build dynamism, while one lowered toward the horizon evokes fire at ground targets. Each position suits a different scene, so think over in advance which one you will choose.
