A rear case with the return spring, a replacement part for the GHAD-68 and for the flagship Swallowtail.
Responsibility details are not available.
Inside every gravity-feed airbrush there is a rear assembly which decides how the trigger returns. This case is its outer shell: it screws into the rear opening of the body, grips the return spring inside and determines how hard it presses on the needle. What is interesting about this particular component is that two machines from different classes share it, the GHAD-68 model with a 0.38 mm nozzle and the flagship Swallowtail. Both have the rear part of the body built to the same measure, even though everything else differs. For the owner of both machines that is practical: a single replacement covers a workshop where both are worked with in turn.
The typical symptom is a sluggish trigger. You release your finger but the lever does not return at once all the way to its stop, so the paint still flows for a moment and a blot arises on the model at the place where the stroke should have ended. The second symptom is, on the contrary, a trigger as hard as stone, which usually means that dried paint has got into the thread and the case is pressing on the spring more than it should.
Before unscrewing it, always loosen the needle chuck first and draw the needle carefully backward, otherwise the tip risks resting against the nozzle and bending. Clean the case with a soft brush and only as much solvent as is necessary; a long soak of the whole assembly needlessly strains the sealing rings. It is tightened back by feel, not with a wrench. Anyone taking on the rear part of an airbrush for the first time should photograph the whole assembly in the state in which they took it apart; the order of the parts is harder to remember than it seems.
