A flat ABS sheet 1.5 mm thick and 245 x 195 mm in size. According to the product designation there is one piece in the package. It is a blank, that is material from which the modeler makes parts himself, whether he is adding a missing section, converting a finished model or building a scene from scratch. Within this range the thickness of 1.5 mm is among the heavier ones and was chosen precisely for load-bearing parts that have to keep their shape.
A heavier sheet is best cut by scoring: draw a modeling knife along a metal ruler several times and then snap the material along the score. That gives a straight edge with no shattering and no fraying. Level the edges with a file or with sandpaper on a flat block. For gluing, use an adhesive intended for ABS or super glue, free the surfaces of dust and grease before joining them, and press them together while they set. Before painting, sand the surface with fine paper and apply a filling primer, on which the paint holds evenly and does not emphasize sanding marks. Drill holes slowly and preferably with a smaller bit first, as that heats the material less.
For modelers who make their own parts, for builders of dioramas and scenes, for railroad modelers and for anyone who needs a flat and solid plastic base. Experience with cutting and sanding plastic is an advantage, and working with the sheet assumes your own design for the part.
When cutting and sanding, work on a mat, protect your eyes and remove the sanding dust with a damp cloth.
