A paint from the IONIC line carried under the manufacturer's part number IONIC-0013 and the name Ice Yellow. It is a yellow shade whose name points to ice, that is, to a yellow that is pale and cooled rather than saturated. How light the tone really is does not follow from the name, so compare it against the manufacturer's color chart, because with pale shades the difference shows more on a finished model than it does with saturated colors.
Pale yellows serve above all for brightening: as the last highlight on the edges of yellow and sand surfaces, on the crests of folds in a figure's clothing and when drybrushing. They also work on ivory-light surfaces, on faded lettering, on sand and stubble in a diorama and on fantasy subjects, where cool light tones are in use. Mixed into a saturated yellow it brightens it without taking it toward white.
Stir the contents thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Pale shades as a rule need more coats than dark ones and come out better over a light surface, so apply them thin and add the next one only once the previous has dried. Choose the thinner and the ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging; for an airbrush it needs more thinning than for a brush. Try the shade on a test piece, because a large area always looks lighter than a small sample. Rinse the tools right after work.
The package contains the stated shade. The thinner, brushes and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
