The twentieth volume of the AEROspecial series is called At Home and Overseas and deals with some of the foreign missions of the Czechoslovak Air Force in the 1950s and 1960s. The author is M. Irra. It is a book, not a kit nor an accessory for a model, and the text is in Czech.
The post-war Czechoslovak Air Force did not confine itself to home bases. Besides ordinary service at home it sent crews, machines and instructors outside Europe as well, to countries with which Czechoslovakia had then established cooperation. Such missions took place far from any support, in a climate neither the machines nor the people were used to, and in conditions where improvisation was the rule. They are at the same time chapters which usually fall between the lines in survey histories of the air force, because this was not combat deployment on a grand scale but individual expeditions and long stays.
For readers with an interest in the post-war Czechoslovak Air Force and for modelers looking for context and less familiar circumstances of service for the types of that era. The publication alone is supplied; kits, decals and other modeling material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
