The Zündapp KS 750 is a heavy motorcycle with a sidecar which during the Second World War served the German army as a liaison and reconnaissance machine. It was powered by a flat twin of a displacement of 751 cubic centimeters, that is roughly seven hundred and fifty, as the designation of the machine suggests. Unusual for the time was the driven sidecar wheel with a differential lock, and a reverse gear, thanks to which the combination coped with rough ground as well. The wheels of the motorcycle and of the sidecar were interchangeable with one another, so a crew made do with one spare.
The wheels are the most conspicuous thing on a model of a motorcycle, because they are not hidden under a body and their tread and hub are visible from every side. Replacement wheels take the place of the parts from the kit and give the combination a sharper definition of the tread and a cleaner shape of rim.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the tread stays sharp. Before painting, wash the parts and degrease them, otherwise paint will not hold on the surface. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts, which the manufacturer's instructions give. Paint the tire dark gray rather than toward black; once dry, go over the edges of the tread with a dry brush and put a little dust into the grooves according to the setting in which the model stands. Paint the rim and the hub separately, still before the wheel is put on the fork.
