Wipers are among the parts on which injection plastic necessarily loses: they are long, flat and have to be very thin, yet a mold for plastic has a technological limit of thickness. The result in the box is therefore usually heavy, angular and without any detail on the arm, or wipers are not supplied in the kit at all. And they sit on the windshield, the first thing a viewer sees on a helicopter. A resin casting manages a crisp profile that is correct to scale and a fine mounting for the arm. The Apache also has large, outward sloping glazing over the tandem cockpit, on which every wiper is exposed from close up and from a distance, so an accessory this small shows on the result out of all proportion.
Before painting, wash the parts: a release agent is left on them from production and it reliably repels primer and paint. Cut the wipers off the casting block with a saw; breaking them off here is a guaranteed way to snap them, because the profile is very thin. Do any cleaning up wet, because resin dust is harmful to health and should not be breathed in. For gluing use super glue (cyanoacrylate), or epoxy; ordinary cement for polystyrene does not take on resin, because it cannot soften it. Fit the wipers as the last step after varnishing and the decals, so that they are not broken off or lost while you handle the model.
