The cockpit of the Black Hawk has two armored seats for the pilot and the copilot, and with them goes a multi-point harness that holds the torso and the shoulders. That is exactly what usually cannot be suggested on a model with a plastic part: in reality the belts are soft, they drape over the edge of the cushion, and their buckles and adjusting hardware are markedly different in shade from the upholstery. This set deals with them by printing, with a color and a weave of the fabric that spraying cannot achieve.
The contents are enough for four seats, so they cover the cabin with a spare in case the first attempt does not come off or in case you are building an open cabin with the crew chiefs' seats. The belts are cut out along the outline, dipped briefly and laid in place, where they can still be moved around with water for a while.
The best result comes from finishing the seat and taking the shine off it before the belts come up. A softener will help to settle them into the recesses and over the edges, so that once dry they look as though they were lying loose on the cushion. A few drops of matte varnish at the end even the surface out.
The set is derived from the real equipment of the American transport helicopter whose first machines entered service at the end of the 1970s and which to this day forms the backbone of military transport. The seats and the helicopter itself are not part of the box; this is an accessory for a model in 1:32 scale. The pilots' seats on this machine are armored and adjustable for height, so the harness runs differently on them than on an ordinary transport seat, and getting its position right shows at once with the cockpit doors open.
