Wheels with balloon tires for the Kübelwagen in 1:35 scale, in an underinflated form with a flattened contact patch. Variant number one.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kübelwagen, factory designation Type 82, was a light German military car of the Second World War. It grew out of the civilian people's car, had an air-cooled engine at the rear and was admirably light, which helped it off road more than power did. It is on precisely such a car that balloon tires make sense: a wide profile and low pressure spread the weight of the vehicle over a larger area, so the wheels do not sink so far into sand or mud.
Wheels in 1:35 scale in an underinflated form. The tire sags under the weight of the vehicle, flattened at the bottom and bulging slightly at the side, so the model stops standing as if on compass points and starts to look as though it weighs something. The number in the designation distinguishes the individual variants within the range.
The flattened face belongs down toward the ground, or the whole effect disappears. Try the stance of the vehicle dry before gluing and align the rotation of the wheels so that the model sits without rocking. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder, and wash and degrease the parts before painting; choose the glue according to the material, with super glue serving universally. Do not paint the tire black, because a dark gray shade looks more convincing, and light dust along the sides and in the tread ties the wheels to the ground the vehicle drove over.
For builders of German light vehicles in 1:35 scale who want the car settled into the terrain. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
