Resin replacement wheels in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Firma49 for the German VW Kübelwagen light off-road car. This is the set.1 variant with balloon tires in an underinflated state, showing the realistic flattening where they meet the ground. It is NOT a vehicle model – it is a detail accessory that replaces the kit wheels.
The VW Type 82 Kübelwagen was a German light multi-purpose car of the Second World War, used widely on every front. Wider balloon tires were fitted for soft ground and sand, and they were sometimes run slightly underinflated for better grip.
Wash the wheels free of mold release agent, remove the casting blocks and fit them on the vehicle axles; glue them with cyanoacrylate (super glue). The underinflated stance shows best if you set the wheels square to the base. Paint the tires in dark rubber shades, bring out the tread with dry-brushing and add dust pigments.
It is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. The vehicle, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
