A set of color interior 3D decals on decal paper for a model of the carrier-based Vought F-8J Crusader fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that gives the cockpit a three-dimensional and faithfully colored look. The relief structure of the decals imitates the instruments and the cockpit detail in depth. The decals are shaped for the Hasegawa kit.
The decals do away with the demanding hand painting of tiny elements: the instrument panels, side consoles, seat belts and controls gain legibility and realistic color. The effect comes close to a photo-etched set, but application is faster and involves no gluing of metal parts.
Apply them as wet decals: soak them briefly, move them onto a smooth degreased surface, ideally coated with gloss varnish, and settle them with a soft cotton bud. Check in the manufacturer's instructions whether a decal softener can be used on the printed elements. Move the small segments with tweezers and work in good light.
The accessory is supplied on its own. The target kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
