The 1:48 Yakovlev Yak-7B masking set at the BASIC level is an accessory to a kit: it contains pre-cut masks, not model parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a Yak-7B model in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. It is not a kit: the masks are cut for a particular kit, the one from Zvezda, and serve to mask the glazing and other areas before spraying. The BASIC level is the narrowest variant of the range, aimed above all at what a modeler masks every time.
The Yakovlev Yak-7B was a Soviet single-engine fighter of the Second World War, which came about by development from a two-seat trainer. The structure combined wood, steel tubing and fabric covering, and the power came from a liquid-cooled V12 engine. The Yak-7B became a stepping stone to the later and far more widespread Yak-9. The model has a simple but broken-up cockpit with several frames, where cutting tape by hand does not pay off.
On types with a wooden structure in particular it pays to level the surface properly before masking, as a mask will not seal on a rougher finish. Clean the glazing, lay the mask on dry and let it bed down by itself; light pressure is enough. Spray the frames in the interior shade first, so that the inside of the cockpit does not glow through the top color. Apply the camouflage in thin coats; Soviet schemes with soft transitions are sprayed with thinned paint at low pressure, so the risk of bleeding is small. After unmasking, check the edges against the light, as a small run can be removed with a wooden toothpick, which will not scratch the clear part.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not contain. Paints, glue and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
