This is not a model of the ship but an aftermarket accessory to a plastic kit in 1:700 scale. The package holds a veneer deck with a self-adhesive base and the printed laying of the planks. Once it is glued on, the model gets areas with a real wooden pattern, which injection-molded plastic cannot imitate even with careful painting.
The Repulse was a British battlecruiser of the Renown class, completed in 1916. The concept of the class built on a high speed and strong main armament of 381 mm at the price of weaker armor. In the interwar period the ship went through several modernizations that touched the superstructures, the armor and the anti-aircraft armament.
Getting around the superstructures gives the most work. The veneer is cut with cutouts for the barbettes, the funnels, the hatchways and the bases of the superstructures, but the tolerances are small, so try the part dry and check every cutout separately. If one seats tightly, rather widen it by a hair with a new blade than bend the veneer while seating it; bent veneer will lift in that place. Take off the superstructures that can be removed and fit them only after the deck has been glued on, which will save you the trouble of going around them and the edge will be clean.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model of the ship. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
