A deck set with a mask and etch for the battleship Hiei in 1:700 scale from Artwox Model adds a better deck to a ship kit. It is not a ship model but an accessory for one. The set fits the Fujimi 460079 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name, the combined Artwox Model package contains a deck overlay, a masking sheet and photo-etched parts for a model of the battleship Hiei in 1:700 scale. Everything is cut for the Fujimi 460079 kit. The set is not a kit; the base model has to be bought separately.
The most common mistake is not in the laying but in the timing. The deck overlay belongs on the model before the superstructure, the funnels and the masts are fitted, otherwise you end up working around them with a knife at impossible angles. The recommended order is therefore clear: assemble and clean up the hull, finish the deck part, lay the overlay, and only then build upward. Photo-etched parts such as railings, by contrast, come at the very end, when the model is no longer being handled.
The base has to be flat, clean and degreased. Take the protective film off in sections and settle the surface from the centerline out to the sides. Trim around the feet of the superstructure with a fresh blade, drawing the cut rather than pressing it. Once it is glued down it is a good idea to seal the surface with a matte varnish, which unifies the sheen and protects the surface during the rest of the build. Photo-etched parts are glued with a tiny amount of cyanoacrylate; any excess turns white and shows on the deck.
An accessory for a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
