An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese light cruiser Isuzu in 1:700 scale from the Waterline series by the manufacturer Tamiya. The Waterline version shows the ship down to the waterline, so once built it looks like a vessel afloat. The package contains plastic parts and decals; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Isuzu was one of the Nagara class light cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. During the Second World War it went through a major rebuild aimed at anti-aircraft defense, which made it one of the most heavily modified cruisers of its class. It served in a number of Pacific operations.
Set the hull down to the waterline on a flat surface or a stand; paint the deck and the superstructure separately before final assembly. Fine features such as the railings and the anti-aircraft guns benefit from being completed with photo-etched parts. Toning with wash colors into the recesses and shading the superstructure with a dry brush adds realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
