Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese light cruiser Kinu in 1:700 scale from Tamiya's Waterline series. The waterline version shows the ship down to the waterline, so once built the model looks like a vessel afloat. The package contains plastic parts and decals; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Kinu was one of the Nagara class light cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy and was intended as a flotilla leader for destroyer flotillas. The fast cruisers of this class carried both guns and torpedo tubes and operated in many Pacific actions during the Second World War. The Kinu took part in the fighting in the southwest Pacific.
Set the hull, cut at the waterline, on a flat surface or a stand; paint the deck and the superstructures separately before the final assembly. Fine railings can be added with photo-etched parts from the accessory range. Toning with washes into the recesses of the deck and gently picking out the superstructures with a dry brush will add realism.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
