Artwox Model 1:700 a deck masking sheet for the Fujimi 46000 kit of the battleship Yamato is a set of self-adhesive masks for spraying the deck areas, and neither a kit nor a finished veneer deck.
Responsibility details are not available.
A self-adhesive masking set from Artwox Model intended for spraying the deck of a model of the Japanese battleship Yamato in 1:700 scale. The masks are pre-cut to the shape of the deck areas, so the boundary between the wooden deck and the steel areas does not have to be traced laboriously with tape. The sheet is cut for the Fujimi 46000 kit.
The usual procedure is to spray the shade of wood over the whole deck first, stick the masks onto the areas that are to stay wooden once it has cured and spray the rest in naval gray. Once the masks are removed, crisp transitions stay exactly where the planks end on the real thing. The result is flatter than with a veneer deck, but it does not increase the height of the deck areas and does not cover the engraved details.
Degrease the plastic before sticking them on and let it dry completely. Then press the edges of the masks down carefully with a toothpick or a stick, as it is precisely along an edge that has not seated that paint flows under. Spray in several thin coats and lead the stream perpendicular to the edge of the mask, not at a sharp angle. Take the masks off while the paint is freshly dried; after several days the film tears at the edge. Tweezers and the tip of a new knife suit the small cut-outs around the turrets and the hatches.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The kit, paints and thinner are not included in the package.
