A deck covering mask for USS Arizona BB-39 as of 1941 in 1:700 scale is a pre-cut self-adhesive set with which you spray the deck areas of the kit with sharp edges. Meant for the Hobby Boss 83401 kit.

The package holds pre-cut covering masks for painting the deck of the plastic kit of the battleship USS Arizona BB-39 as she was in 1941. It is not a wooden veneer or a decal; it is an aid for spraying. The cut-outs match the shape of the deck of the kit given, so there is no laborious tracing and cutting of masking tape.
A mask holds best on a smooth, fully dried and cool surface. Let the paint under the mask harden longer than the label states; a coat that is not fully dry peels off along with the mask when it is removed. The mask itself, on the other hand, should not lie on the model needlessly long. After several days, especially in warmth or in the sun, the adhesive migrates and on removal leaves a glossy film that shows under matte paint. The ideal is to stick it on, spray at once and take it off within twenty-four hours.
Once it is stuck on, go over every edge with a blunt wooden stick. Then seal the transition with a thin coat of clear varnish in the same shade as the one under the mask; any creep is then invisible in color. Spray the covering shade at right angles to the surface and in several light coats. Take it off with a draw back over itself at an angle, using flat-jawed tweezers, before the paint has fully cured.
This is a masking accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The paints, varnish and kit are not included in the package. The mask is cut for the Hobby Boss 83401 kit; check the match before buying.
