The Artwox Model 1:700 wooden deck for the heavy cruiser USS Baltimore CA-68 in her 1944 state is an accessory to a plastic kit. A self-adhesive veneer will replace the engraved plastic deck of the Trumpeter 05725 kit.

This item is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the ship. Artwox Model supplies deck parts cut from thin wooden veneer with the laying of the planks marked on it; the back carries a self-adhesive layer, so the set is stuck straight onto the plastic deck in 1:700 scale. The deck is cut for the Trumpeter 05725 kit.
The USS Baltimore was the lead ship of the class of the same name of American heavy cruisers, taken into service in 1943. She carried nine 203 mm guns in three triple turrets and twelve dual-purpose 127 mm guns, supplemented with extensive light anti-aircraft armament. Against the interwar classes the ships of this series had a greater displacement, a longer hull and considerably better armor protection, because they were no longer built under treaty limits.
Why veneer at all, when the planks can be painted? The difference lies in what light does. Real wood has an irregular pattern of grain and every plank is a shade different in color, so the area never reads as uniform; in 1:700 scale it is precisely that small play of the surface that tells a model from a toy. Spraying imitates such an effect only with great effort. For the best result let the wood breathe: no heavy varnishes, only a thin matte coat for protection, and any fine-tuning of the tone with a very thin wash that brings out the gaps.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
