Wooden deck with masks and photo-etched parts 1:700 for the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise CV-6 from Artwox Model combines a self-adhesive veneer with pre-printed plank laying, masking films and photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A combined set of accessories for a ship kit in 1:700 scale. According to the name it holds a veneer deck with a self-adhesive backing and pre-printed plank laying, masking films for painting and photo-etched parts. It is not a model or a substitute for one, but an improvement to one particular plastic kit.
With a set that mixes veneer, masks and etching, the sequence of steps decides the result. A proven procedure: first finish and sand the plastic deck and spray the surrounding metal areas, then glue the veneer on, and only at the very end fit the photo-etched parts. Anyone who glues the etching earlier then has to trim the veneer around it laboriously and almost always damages the edge. Keep the superstructures separate as long as possible; while they are off, the deck is accessible from every side.
Cut the photo-etched parts off the fret with photo-etch scissors or sever them with a scalpel against a hard surface, and never snap them out. Bend them over the sharp edge of a steel ruler. They are glued with super glue, which you apply in a minute amount on the tip of a pin, never straight from the bottle. Degrease the etching before painting and use a primer, otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth brass surface.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. The accessory is cut for one particular kit, Academy 14224; please check the match before buying.
