The model includes the hull with the superstructures, the armament and fine deck detail. It is an injection-molded plastic model to be assembled and painted.
The USS Pinckney is an American Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer, the most numerous class of surface combatants of the US Navy. The Flight IIA configuration is marked, among other things, by helicopter hangars at the stern. The ships carry the Aegis combat system, vertical missile silos and a general-purpose gun, and perform air defense, anti-submarine and strike duties.
Consider the full-hull version on a stand, or the waterline version for a sea diorama. Fine railings, aerials and radars will benefit from aftermarket photo-etched parts. Paint the hull and the superstructures in shades of US naval gray, set the deck apart and bring out the details with a fine patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
