WWII USN Carrier-based Aircraft I 1:700 is a set of F4F, SBD and TBD carrier aircraft meant to fill out models of American aircraft carriers.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic set of miniature carrier aircraft in 1:700 scale from Flyhawk. The package holds three types of US naval aviation from the beginning of the war in the Pacific and serves to fill the decks and hangars of aircraft carrier models. It is not a stand-alone aircraft model but an accessory air group.
The set covers the Grumman F4F Wildcat fighter, the Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber and the Douglas TBD Devastator torpedo bomber. These very types made up the carrier air wings of the American carriers in the first months of the war in the Pacific, including the key battles of 1942. Some of the aircraft allow folded wings and torpedo or bomb loads, so a deck and a hangar can be put together faithfully.
Separate the small parts with a sharp knife and glue them with the minimum of glue. Given their size, painting with an airbrush and picking the panels out with a light wash work well. Folded wings and the way the aircraft are placed give a deck a sense of movement.
This is an accessory set of aircraft, not a stand-alone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
