USS The Sullivans (DD-537) is a plastic kit of the American Fletcher class destroyer in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the American Fletcher class destroyer of the period of the Second World War. The hull can be built at full height on a stand or as a waterline. The package holds gun turrets of 127 mm caliber, anti-aircraft armament of 40 mm caliber, torpedo tubes, finely rendered superstructure, a display stand and a decal sheet.
USS The Sullivans was one of the numerous Fletcher class and bears her name in honor of the five Sullivan brothers, who died in the sinking of the cruiser USS Juneau in 1942. The destroyer entered service in 1943 and operated in the Pacific. The main armament consisted of guns of 127 mm caliber complemented by a strong anti-aircraft battery.
We recommend a thin cement for plastic and painting with an airbrush, ideally over a primer; the American Measure camouflage schemes are typical. Paint the hull and the decks before fitting the small armament. The appearance is enhanced by photo-etched railings and rigging, which are not included in the package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
