The resin kit of the 15 cm TbtsK C/36 naval gun in 1:72 scale from Planet Models is a model of the weapon itself for experienced modelers, not a model of a ship.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate resin kit of a naval gun of 150 mm caliber in the pattern used on German destroyers of the Second World War. The model is cast in resin, so it belongs in the hands of a modeler who already has experience of building in this material. It is not an add-on for a larger kit and not a model of a vessel: the result is a standalone model of artillery armament in 1:72 scale, suitable for a display case as well as for a diorama.
The designation TbtsK C/36 belongs to a naval gun of 15 cm caliber that formed the main armament of German destroyers from the late 1930s and from the 1940s. It was usually installed in single mountings with a protective shield fore and aft. The same barrel also appeared in coastal positions, where it was carried on a different mounting. In 1:72 scale the model comes out large enough for the detail of the mounting and of the sighting gear to show, detail that is lost on a model of a whole vessel.
First wash the parts in warm soapy water so that any mold release residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, wet-sand the surfaces and use respiratory protection; do not breathe resin dust. It is bonded with super glue, or with epoxy. Apply a filler primer before painting, which will also reveal small bubbles to be filled. Gray naval shades come out well with a dark wash in the engraved lines and a light dry brush on the edges of the shield; the barrel and the moving parts can be picked out with a graphite or metallic shade. The model looks good on a simple base with a section of deck.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
