An injection-molded plastic model of the Polish light tank 7TP in the single-turret version, in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand Mirage Hobby. The single-turret configuration carries one rotating turret with a 37 mm anti-tank gun, unlike the older twin-turret version armed only with machine guns. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts and a decal sheet.
The 7TP was a Polish light tank developed from the British Vickers built under license. It was among the first series-produced tanks with a diesel engine, which lowered the risk of fire and improved its range. The single-turret version with the 37 mm gun was the strongest Polish variant and in 1939 it was the most modern tank of the Polish army, if only in small numbers. It was committed in the defensive fighting of the Polish campaign.
With a tank it pays to assemble and paint the running gear with the wheels and tracks first, and to close the hull only afterwards. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and fit the small turret parts carefully. Apply primer before painting and lay the characteristic Polish three-color camouflage on with an airbrush in thin coats, or mask the transitions. A dark wash into the details and pigments for mud effects on the running gear will give a convincing look.
